Spillway Trail (Norco, LA): click Link

Directions:

From N.O.: take I-10 west and exit onto I-310 south. From I-310, exit on to Airline Hwy (Hwy 61) west and head toward Norco. Just past the Shell Gas station on the left there will be signs for the Bonnet Care Spillway directing you to turn right onto the levee road. From there you can see the boat launch - park there and look to the north along the canal. The large bulletin board marks the trail head.

From B. R.: take I-10 east and exit heading south onto the 2nd LaPlace exit which is Hwy 51. Hwy 51

Hooper Trail Map

Hooper Trail Map (Above): 6261 Guynell Drive (in the Sharon Hills subdivision)

Directions To Trail Head: Take I-110 to the Baton Rouge Airport Exit onto Harding Blvd. north toward Plank Rd. Harding Blvd. will become Hooper Rd. at the first red light. Stay on Hooper Rd. until you get to the next red light, turn left onto Cedar Glen in the Sharon Hills neighborhood. When Cedar Glen dead ends, turn right onto Guynell. Continue on Guynell for two blocks and you will be at the entrance of Hooper Road Park. The trailhead is on the left as you enter the parking lot.

Directions To Trail Head:

Take I-110 to the Baton Rouge Airport Exit onto Harding Blvd. north toward Plank Rd. Harding Blvd. will become Hooper Rd. at the first red light. Stay on Hooper Rd. until you see the sign for the Kerry Stamey Trail System / Comite River BREC Park.  This trail head is ~ 2 miles further than the entrance to the Sharon Hills Subdivision on the Right Side of the road.
